I’m sitting at an Airport in Springfield, Missouri waiting for my plane to arrive. I’m heading to Florida to spend some time with my Dad.  I love traveling but I hate airports.  Airports are never quick and never fun.  Never!  But free wi-fi has saved the day  and is making time pass a little faster.  I have been sitting here thinking about my past weekend and want to share a bit with you.

I went down to Louisville, Kentucky to spend time with two ministers I greatly respect and look up:  James  Hauser and Jarrett Samuels.  James is a Student Minister at Southeast Christian Church.  Southeast is one of the largest churches in the United States.  It is over three times bigger than my home town.  Jarrett is the Children’s Minister at a satellite campus of Southeast.  Both of these guys are truly doing great things for the kingdom of God.

The weekend was spent moving the rest of Jarrett’s stuff (he just moved there) and talking about life and ministry.  I don’t get to see these guys much so we had a lot to catch up on.

If you have never been to Southeast Christian Church I encourage you to get off your butt and go.  I have been many times and it has always been a great experience.  It seems every time I visit, something new has been added to the church.  They are now in the process of building a new Student Center.  I was able to walk through it and it is like nothing else I have seen.

Inside there is a coffee shop, Kentucky’s best rock climbing wall, and a room that is designed to hold 900 students.  This is all just for 6th grade – 12th grade.  The Student Center is set to open in March.  I am looking forward to going back when the Student Center is finished and seeing the final touches.

The Satellite campus is actually in Indiana.  Southeast is planning on opening many more churches around it’s central location.  This is the first one and it is also set to open in March.  They have been in the planning stages for quite some time and now they are waiting for the building to be done so they can kick off.  They are expecting anywhere between 1,000 – 3,000 people on their first Sunday. I’m excited to see what comes of the church and can’t wait to visit it once it starts.

My plane just arrived and that means it’s time to go an eat nasty peanuts!
